Here’s the information about “Fun Ride”,in which you guests and we staff enjoy cycling together! We will cycle for Kawachi Wind Cave in Taga Town. Summer is coming.. let’s enjoy the COOL nature to cool off! Here’s 3 ways to cool off during the Fun Ride. 1. Explore into a mysterious & fantastic wind cave. 2. Enjoy a yummy shaved ice!! 3. Cycle along the crystal clear river in the mountainous area. – then perfect to refresh yourself! SPRING FUNRIDE 2022 – SAKURA Cycling –

Here’s the information about “Fun Ride”,in which we staff and you guests enjoy cycling together!
Actually it’s for the first time in two years ..since we’d been worried about the situation. Now we think it’s time we can do it as before.

This time we are heading for the north seeing sakura blooming along the lakeshore and stopped by some hot spots like Ho-park and Nishino Suido.
Since we staff cycle with you, you can cycle easily without getting lost.

Info about GW – Rental Fee & Return Option –
Thank you for using us always.
Due to the period of peak demand（Golden Week in 2022; 2022/4/29-2022/5/8）, the weekend price is applied to the rental fee on 5/2（Mon）and 5/6（Fri）, even though these dates are weekdays.
★ May 2（Mon）, May 6（Fri） ➡ WEEKEND PRICE ★
We’re sorry but Bicycle Return Options is not available during Golden Week. Because it’s the highest season and there will be a lot of use, we would like to give chances to use our bikes for as many customers as possible.
★During GW from April 28(Thu)to May 8(Sun)★ ➡ “Bicycle Return Options” UNAVAILABLE

“Lake Glass Museum” is open at Maibara Cycle Station!
“Sea glass” is physically and chemically weathered glass found on beaches along bodies of salt water.
The similar glass is found on beaches around Lake Biwa as well, as a kind of “Beach glass”. We call it “Lake glass”, which is not known so well though.
From March 10th, the “Lake Glass Museum” that displays many pieces of lake glass is open.
If you pick a lake glass during your “Biwaichi” bike trip and bring it back here, we’re glad to let it be on display in the museum.
Also, you can get one from the display in exchange for yours, if you find your favorite one there.
（You can get only one piece.）
We wish this project lead you to the beach to try to find a lake glass, that would be one of exciting opportunities on your way, right?
Touch/see things in nature, even though/because they are artificial things, feel something through it, then let’s think about the lake, our environment, and our planet.

We are reopen on Feb. 24th [*rescheduled]
Thank you for using us always. We have been having too much snow this winter in the northern area in Shiga and it makes our life difficult as well as cycling. We were supposed to reopen our bike rental shop on Feb. 19th but we decided to postpone the day to Feb. 24th for the above reason. Even though no snow is on the main road, it’s wet & slippery especially in the morning due to the low temperature and the snow piled up on the shoulder of the road makes the space for cycling too narrow, no space as for on the sidewalk. Let’s wait for a while until the snow melts. Thank you for your understanding.

Now the season we could have snow so our rental bike shop is closed during the winter as above.
How was your 2021?
Unfortunately, we are still in the pandemic so our life is not completely free yet.
However, we’ve found riding bicycle gives us freedom somehow even in this difficult situation. It seems that fact has contributed to cycle tourism and more people want to get bicycles for their quality of life.
We think our service of providing a good bike can be the first step of someone’s wonderful bike life. We are always glad to help you improve your QOL with rich experience & information about biking.
Also, we would love to say a huge thank y’all here supporting us.
We can’t provide a bike to you online unlike other virtual touring or staycation. It’s impossible to feel the breeze, wind, warm sun, hotness & coldness, smells and sounds in nature, your breathing, sweating, how much joy there is, while you’re cycling in reality. So your effort to have tried out to come here to use us is much appreciated! Yes, all your experience here is real, and yours. Thank you so much.

Information about Promotion of Bike Rental for Local Residents【until December 14, 2021】

We have a good information for those who are living in Shiga.
Some of you may remember the same information was announced last summer as well and yes,
Shiga local government again budgeted for “Promotion of Bike Rental for Local Residents” and it starts from July 1st.
We will join it so that our guests who are living in Shiga can use it.
Q. Are you living in Shiga? （Please show us your residence card at the reception on that day）
Q. Are you going to use our rental bike by mid-December?
→If your answer is YES for both the above questions, you can use our bike 50 % OFF the regular rental fee!（*Except for Paid Option）.
★Please note that the promotion is valid until December 14th , and there is a maximum limit for discount according to the rental period as follows.
■1 DAY 2,000 yen
■2 DAYS 4,000 yen
■3 DAYS 5,000 yen
★NOTE★
・The total fee on online reservation would be the regular fee, but 50 % OFF discount will be applied to the total fee which should be paid on that day.
・To use this promotion, the specific application form is needed for each person. Please take your time to fill it out.
・We might take more time to recalculate applying 50 % off discount.
・For a group, please pay together if possible in order to go on the reception smoothly.

【GW2021 Information】 Rental Fee

Now we’re open from February 20th as the new season of 2021 and so glad to have customers this time as well, for now. ↓We update how our business is going here. Soon you’ll see so many sakura blooming around, along the lakeshore as well, so why don’t you try to cycle there! By cycling, no traffic jam you’ll have, no crowded as long as you keep riding, and you can fully enjoy those beautiful sakura & the lake view during the bike trip. After sakura season, we will have the very nice days for cycling in early May, in which the day is longer and the weather is really nice. Also we have the long holiday called Golden Week from April 29th to May 5th. This is another chance to have great fun of cycling with the view of lovely fresh-green. Now the season we have snow so our rental bike shop is closed during the winter as above.
Hope people have fun with much snow this winter -just seeing snow from the window is also good, having some hot coffee, chatting with family and friends, in the warm house.
You know, we have to say 2020 is the very difficult year in history for all, but we might be able to say bikes have been more recognized as a usefull gear or activity that gives fun and physical/mental health even in the pandemic.
In a daily life, you can commute by bike avoiding crowded train and stressful traffic jam and it’s more healthy than using some public transportation or driving cars.
When you are off from work and have enough time to go out, and you should keep your safe, biking is really good way to feel like having an exciting travel while keeping a distance to crowd. After cycling, you will realize you are refreshed because the cycling gave you fun time and an opportunity to exercise at the same time.
Are you be aware of the above already? Then you’re lucky to know how to make your life better.
