Notice of Partial Revision of Rental Price
Partial Revision of Rental Price
Dear Our Valued Clients,
This is to notify you that we have decided to set High Season Rental Price and to revise the Paid Option Price（rental fee for bike accessories） , effective Feburuary 1st, 2024.
○Rental Price
1. High season pricing will be applied for Golden Week（Japan’s holiday week from the end of April to beginning of May）, Obon week（Mid-August）, and other long weekends.
2. Revision of Paid Option Price
*As for the details of the price revision, please check out the Rental Fee & Method page and down to Price and Time.
This was a tough decision to make, and we understand how it affects our customers. Therefore, we thank you for your ongoing support and trust that these changes will help us continue providing you with premium quality and service.

Winter Closing 2023-2024 [12/13/2023 – 2/22/2024]

Thank you as always for your support.
Usually, we have snow from the middle of December to February（Might be no snow because it’s said to be a warm winter, though）, we close our bike rental shop during the winter as above.
For us, 2023 is a “heart-warming” year because we had a lot of guests to whom we say, “Long time no see! Happy to meet you again!”.
It is so grateful for us to have guests who have used us before and then came to use us again this year for the first time in a couple of years, even from abroad.
Meeting those people again is like meeting old friends, we feel, really.
We also had guests from new countries like Finland, Poland, Oman, etc. We wondered how they could know about us, and they usually say they just google and find us. We realized how much the customer reviews helps to promote our business and that is much appreciated.
Receiving the feedback from our guests, we will do our best in the next season as well!
Again, many thanks to you all.
Wish you all happy holidays and all the best for the new year.

★During the winter closing, our business days are on weekdays only.
※We’re off for New Year holidays & break 【12/29/2023～1/10/2024】and every weekend during the winter closing so we will reply to you only on weekdays if we get emails or online reservations when we’re off. Thank you for your understanding.

11.3 CLOSED FOR “BIWAICHI DAY”
Thank you for using us always.
Since 2022, November 3rd is officially “Biwaichi Day” here in Shiga, when we have a lot of cycling events to promote cycle tourism around Lake Biwa.
This year in 2023, because we would have to work for the event on that day and be off from Maibara Cycle Station, our bike rental service won’t be provided only on November 3rd in 2023.
Therefore, customers can’t rent a bike from us nor return it here at Maibara station on that day, so please make a plan for cycling/renting a bike from us carefully.
We are working as a bike rental shop before/after the Biwaichi Day.

Temporarily closed on Aug. 15 due to Typhoon LAN
Thank you for using us always. A strong typhoon “LAN” is expected to hit mainland Japan tomorrow on Tuesday（15th）. We decided to close our shop, Maibara Cycle Station, tomorrow on August 15th temporarily. Thank you for your understanding. Please stay safe. ★It is predicted that there will be some damage to the road in Shiga prefecture due to the typhoon. Please try to get the latest information.

*NOTE about Rental FeeDue to the period of peak demand（Golden Week 2023 >> 2023/4/29-2022/5/7 <<）, the weekend price is applied to the rental fee for May 1st (Mon)and May 2nd (Tue), even though these dates are weekdays.

*NOTE about Return OptionRegarding Bicycle Return Options, it’s not available during Golden Week. Because we would like to provide as many bikes as possible to users, as it’s the highest season and there will be a lot of use.

This is to notify you that we have decided to implement an increase in bicycle rental price, effective the beginning of the new year, January 1st, 2023. This increase is being made to meet corresponding increases in the bicycle parts and materials.

Winter Closing 2022-2023 [2022/12/14 – 2023/2/17]
☆Winter Closing☆

Thank you for supporting us as always.
Soon the season we could have snow coming, so our rental bike shop is closed during the winter as above.
How was the 2022 for us?
We would say it is much better than 2021 and 2020, because we could have more guests including guests from abroad finally in late autumn!
Moreover, the local Shiga government set a specific day for “Biwaichi Day” on November 3rd, and “Biwaichi Week” for the following week. Over the “Biwaichi Day” and “Biwaichi Week”, we had a lot of cycling events around Lake Biwa and other area in Shiga, in which you can get special local food for cyclists, you can join special cycling tours, or you can join ride events. In addition to the fact that you can fully enjoy the autumn leaves in November as its peak season, these events will make your bike trip more fun! If you missed them this year, then come to join us next November!
We are sorry that we have to close the shop for a while meanwhile more travelers would visit Japan, but winter is not for cycling. Should have fun in great ski resort in Japan. And don’t forget the wonderful spring season would be coming after winter with the fantastic Sakura blooming view! So, see you then.

A good info about the coupon you can use to get a discount for bike rental fee here!
Using this coupon, you can rent a bike from us 3000 yen off（*maximum/how much discount depends on the total fee）the rental fee.
Make good use of it and come to enjoy wonderful autumn cycling around Lake Biwa!
How to use the coupon;
1. Install the LINE App and resister.
2. Add the “しが割” account as a friend on LINE.
3. Every Monday the “しが割” issues a discount coupon and send it to you.
4. Let us know that you would like to use the coupon at the reception and show us the coupon on LINE, then we will apply the discount and show how much you should pay to us.
*NOTE*
・The coupon can be used only once in a week.
・You can’t cancell after using it once.
・The period when the coupon is available is from November 14th in 2020 to February 26th in 2023, and our rental bike shop is closed during winter from December 15th, 2020 to February 17th, 2023, meanwhile you can’t use the coupon as well.

LATE-SUMMER FUNRIDE 2022 – Cycling tour around Maibara –

Here’s the information about “Fun Ride”,in which you guests and we staff enjoy cycling together! We will cycle around Maibara area stopping by some nice places like hidden small shrine, fresh spring water, popular theme park, and historical spot. As it’s still hot enough to enjoy cold sweets and food, we will try some delicious shaved ice and soba noodle. Right now, from July 1st to the end of September, some cafes & restaurants provide special shaved ice using fresh spring water from Mt.Ibuki. There is a specific local food called “Ibuki soba”, which has been preserved by local people since Heian era. Let’s try them out while cycling!
